Final Reflection Assignment 30A

Image
Final Reflection by Jenna Jaeger Some of my formative experiences have been the reading reflections. The reading assignments gave me an insight to an entrepreneur's world. I found they come from many different backgrounds and have all had failures and struggles that have made them strong-willed. I think we are shaped into who we are by our experiences. The childhood that Musk and Chanel had was not a privileged one. I had this predetermined idea of who an entrepreneur is and what they look like. I was proved wrong by this class. I liked this assignment because it popped the bubble I was in and gave me the insight I needed. I believe at the end of this class, that I have the capabilities to create a business. My experience I will remember for years to come is my first interviews I did for this class. The questioning I got when interviewing people was not expected. I thought people would be willing to help me out with an assignment by answering a few questions, but some were off...

Venture Concept No.2 Assignment 29A

Venture Concept No.2 by Jenna Jaeger Opportunity. My potential customers are as follows: a woman of middle age, she has a busy life, she has little expendable income, she works with lots of people, she is married, she has pets or children to take care of, and she cares about her appearance. The nature of the need is the difficulty of at-home whitening strips. She has a hard time with them because of the mess they create and the slippery nature of the whitening strips. The forces creating this opportunity are the lack of solutions to this problem. Most whitening brands do not offer any product that can fix this issue. The market is focused on highly populated areas geographically speaking. Since this customer has to work with customers and needs to look presentable, like having white teeth, they will live in an area with a high population because their work will be in areas with high populations. Demographically speaking, the market is women and of middle to high class. More demogra...

Your Exit Strategy Assignment 28A

Your Exit Strategy by Jenna Jaeger I intend to sel the business in the next five years for a large return. I am not a business major, but I am on the pre-med track. I want to own my own practice one day, and so I wouldn't be able to put my full attention on the business. I think it would be better if I sold it to someone who is willing and capable of running the business. I wouldn't want to pass it down to the family because I want my kids to make their own path. It can be helpful to have a family business, but in my case it wouldn't work. I think my intention has always to be selling the idea so I kept it simple. It's easy for anyone to understand and I think that will be beneficial to someone when buying a business. I have intended to start small, but then branch out into Florida, and hopefully i can show the success in my state and the person who buys the business has the means to make it go national. I have been focused on small picture, so my acquired resourc...

Reading Reflection No.3 Assignment 27A

Reading Reflection No.3 by Jenna Jaeger 1. I was surprised the most about how resilient Gabrielle was. With such a hard upbringing, many wouldn't have seen her success. I admired her spirit. I did not like that she was so secretive about her past, like she had something to be ashamed of. When faced with failure, Gabrielle pushed on. 2. Coco Chanel had many competencies. She is one of the first females to establish a business that was so successful and continues to be so successful.  Her competencies include her optimism, her intelligence, and her design spirit. She is optimistic in my opinion because she kept looking up after she failed. She is intelligent because she was raised and educated in a convent for part of her childhood. Her design spirit is what set her apart form others. 3. I was confused throughout the whole book when the author elaborated on how her past is kept hidden, and how Gabrielle had people not share things about her past. As a well-established woman, I...

Celebrating Failure Assignment 26A

Celebrating Failure by Jenna Jaeger A past time I have failed this semester is at work. A little background information is that I work at a restaurant and we have shelves that are high that I have to refill once or twice a week. I am too short so I have to use a step-ladder to refill them, so it takes me a long time. I also have small hands, so when stocking these shelves, I have difficulty holding onto everything in my hands. So one day, while I was refilling the shelves, I slipped and fell and dropped over 50 plastic lids all over the floor and twisted my ankle. I ended up spraining my ankle and bruising my ego pretty badly. I went back to work determined not to drop anything. I tried holding fewer lids, balancing them on the palm of my hand, and a few other methods to get these shelves filled as efficiently as possible. I was taught  that I just needed to slow down from this experience. I was being clumsy in other aspects of my life and once I sprained my ankle my doctor...
