Testing the Hypothesis Part 2 Assignment 9A

Testing the Hypothesis Part 2 by Jenna Jaeger WHO In my interviews, I found that although people for my opportunity all wear whitening strips some use them very infrequently that they do not require the product I am proposing. The need for a device that can keep the strips in place is not a necessity. They have problems with the strips staying in place but find ways to deal with the problem without the feeling of needing a device. WHAT In my interviews, I found that people with this problem are similar to people who have trouble finding time to go to the dentist for whitening treatments and end up using a box from the store. They have this problem, but no need for my product. My need differs from these people because it is for people who consistently use whitening strips in their weekly routine. WHY The underlying cause of these people who differ from my need is that they do not regularly use whitening strips. Since I have such a specific need there was difficulty finding oth...

Solving the Problem Assignment 8A

Solving the Problem by Jenna Jaeger My solution to this opportunity is to create a mouth guard that is formed to the person's mouth to wear after they place the whitening strips are. People can purchase a mold and mail in the mold to a certain facility that can custom make the guard. It'll look like Invisalign and be mailed back within a month. Then they can use it to cover the strips.

Testing the Hypothesis Assignment 7A

Testing the Hypothesis by Jenna Jaeger 1) I believe there is an opportunity for whitening strips. 2) People in the Unites States who use whitening strips have difficulty keeping the strips in place because of the material of the whitening strips. The who: People who use at home whitening strips The what: They are unable to keep the strips in the right place The why: Material of strips 3) Testing the hypothesis Testing the who: It could be individuals, dentists, and whitening brands. Testing the what: Are all whitening strips made of the same material? Are all brands offering the same type of whitening methods? Testing the why: Is it just the material? Do the strips move because of contact with the mouth? Is it the foaming and bubbles that are causing the shifting of the strips? 4) Interviews (what i didn't know before about the opportunity) Interview 1: They did not have trouble with keeping them in place. Interview 2: A certain technique is used to put ...

Practicing Opportunity Identification Assignment 6A

Practicing Opportunity Identification by Jenna Jaeger Opportunity 1: Selling Volkswagen Beetle car parts https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/14/business/volkswagen-beetle.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fbusiness&action=click&contentCollection=business&region=rank&module=package&version=highlights&contentPlacement=2&pgtype=sectionfront I found the opportunity in the Business section of NY Times. I think an opportunity exists because it will become harder and harder to find parts once they are not being produced anymore. Anyone who currently owns a Volkswagen Beetle is the prototypical customer. I think the opportunity will be difficult to exploit because I don't know anything about cars. I saw this opportunity because I had an old car for my first car and found out what parts were easy to replace and what parts are not. Also, my friend has a Beetle and I remember it took her over two weeks to get her car fixed because they had to find pa...

Forming an Opportunity Belief Assignment 4A

Forming an Opportunity Belief by Jenna Jaeger I believe an opportunity exists for creating a product that will keep your lip balm from melting. First, the unmet need is that no company makes their lip balm in a container that won't keep it from melting. Anyone who uses lip balm needs this if they live somewhere where it is hot, or if they leave it in their car, or if they keep their lip balm in their pocket. This need came from my whole life in Florida. When I was a kid, my lip balm would melt in my backpack. When I could drive I would leave a lip balm in my car and even when it is not summer it would still get too soft to use. No one is doing anything to meet this need. They are simply just waiting for their lip balm to solidify after it has melted. I say, confidently, that this opportunity is at 95 percent. The prototypical customer is anyone who uses lip balm. My first interview is with my roommate. He is 18 years old and I've see him use lip balm at least once a da...

My Entrepreneurship Story Assignment 3A

Image
My Entrepreneur Story by Jenna Jaeger My dad is an entrepreneur. He worked for a valet company parking cars while in college. He then became an account manager for this company. He found out some of the things this company was doing was not legal, so he sued the company. He tried at first to get a job at one of the bigger companies doing the same thing he was already doing, but they were not interested in hiring another member of their staff. My dad knew of a lot of restaurants that were in need of a valet service, and did not want to start spending more on it with the bigger companies. My dad also knew of a lot of employees who needed a job because they quit the previous company that my dad, and others sued. He decided to make his own valet company. He got three to four restaurants to agree to hire him because they had known him for so long and knew he did a great job. He hired on the guys that had helped him in the lawsuit and were good employees in the past. He still runs the c...
